Changelog
Made the reigns of days or months (Zimri, Zechariah, Shallum, Jehoahaz, Jehoiachin) visible: they were hidden under their successors' bars and now stand out as raised notches. Set the reigns to the ESV Study Bible's kings-of-Judah and kings-of-Israel charts (Hezekiah to 687, Manasseh from 687, Jehoiakim to 598, Jehoiachin 598–597; Jehoash to 782, Jeroboam II from 782), matched the kings' references to them (adding Jehoiachin's release, 2 Kings 25:27–30), and noted that Pekah's twenty years count from 752.
Restyled in the site's shared look: white, Helvetica, plain titles.
Extended Jeremiah's span to 627–550 BC, covering his years in Egypt and the book's final compilation (ESV Study Bible; GotQuestions.org). Added the fall of Nineveh (612) and Josiah's death (609), and filled out the three deportations to Babylon (605, 597, 586) from the ESV Study Bible's introduction to Jeremiah.
Fixed the chart spilling over the story card when a page opened at phone width was widened (a phone or tablet turned sideways, a browser window enlarged); the timeline now switches between its phone and desktop layouts in place, either way, and keeps any open story.
Gave every king, prophet, writing, chapter block, and turning point its own link (#judah-ahaziah, #prophet-zechariah, #2-kings-18-20) that outlines it on the timeline and opens its story; chapters, writings, and events now show as selected when clicked, as kings and prophets did.
Made the timeline itself pinch-zoomable on phones, with −/+/fit buttons and double-tap, instead of only panning at one fixed size.
Aligned reign and prophet dates with the ESV Study Bible writing-prophets chart (Jeroboam II, Hezekiah, Manasseh, Jehoiakim, Jehoiachin; Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Zephaniah, Ezekiel).
Fixed overlapping band captions where several labels landed on the same x-position.
Extended the timeline through the exile returns and the post-exile prophets.
Split the single kingdom caption into a combined-kingdom label before 931 BC and separate Israel and Judah labels after.
